Hopes fading of Henin return being in Auckland

Hopes that former world tennis number one Justine Henin could make her return from retirement in Auckland appear to be fading.

Her coach says Henin is leaning towards competing in Brisbane ahead of the Australian Open rather than the ASB Classic in Auckland.

However he says it will Henin, a seven time grand slam who will make the decision.

Henin retired in May last year, citing a succession of injuries and a desire to live a life away from tennis but announced her comeback last month in the wake of fellow Belgian Kim Clijsters success at the U.S. Open.

ASB tournament organiser Brenda Perry says there's been some very confusing stories floating around over the past day or so as to what Henin intends doing but she hopes to have a definitive answer by the end of the week.
