All Blacks Jimmy Cowan and Jamie Mackintosh have ended speculation about their Super 14 rugby futures by confirming they'll remain with Southland and the Highlanders.
Twenty-four-year old Mackintosh says he had considered transferring to Wellington and playing for the Hurricanes but has decided to stay.
There was talk that Cowan, who captained the Highlanders this year, could move to Auckland but he says that was never a serious consideration.
