The Breakers coach Dean Vickerman says retiring guard CJ Bruton is the greatest basketball player he's ever been involved with, as the veteran prepares for the final two games of a 20-year career.
The New Zealanders still have a mathematical chance of making the playoffs and giving Bruton one last chance to win a championship, but they must win their final two games and hope numerous other results go their way.
So Bruton's career is likely to come to end after the clash with Cairns at Vector Arena next Friday - and while the 38-year-old probably won't finish as an NBL champion, Vickerman says he'll retire as one of the game's greats.
