The governing body of European football has defended its decision to ban Arsenal's Croatian striker Eduardo da Silva for diving to win a penalty.
His appeal against a two-match ban imposed by UEFA for "simulation" in a Champions League qualifying game against Celtic was overturned yesterday, but UEFA's general secretary David Taylor insists they'll maintain their tough stance on faking fouls.
Taylor looks like he'll have some more work after this morning's opening group matches. Swiss side FC Zurich came back into their home game with Real Madrid thanks to an extremely dubious penatly decision given after striker Alexandre Alphonse went down under minimal or no contact with Real keeper Iker Casillas.
Real went on to win 5-2.
