Alexander Zubkov and Alexey Voevoda have earned Russia's fifth gold medal of the Sochi Winter Olympics by winning the two-man bobsleigh.
Zubkov, the 2011 world champion and Vancouver Olympics bronze medallist, produced two more consistent races today to finish 0.66 seconds ahead of the second-placed Swiss crew.
Zubkov and Voevoda, who were both in Russia's 2006 Games silver medal winning four-man squad, were leading the event by 0.32 seconds after two opening runs yesterday and set a new track record in the third run.
The USA won bronze.
Jamaica's Winston Watts and Marvin Dixon failed to make it into the top 20 of the event and went out after the third run.
