New Zealand have regained the lead in the IRB rugby sevens World Series after thrashing South Africa 21-0 in the final of the Wellington tournament on Saturday night.
The result is a reversal of the last round in Las Vegas and means New Zealand now lead South Africa by two points in the overall World Series race.
New Zealand coach Gordon Tietjens was particularly impressed with his side's defensive effort in the final but says, given the see-sawing nature of the competition, he knows they can't let up.
The next round is in Japan next month.
