Former Chiefs captain out of rugby indefinitely

The former Chiefs captain Craig Clarke has been forced to take an indefinite break from rugby are suffering 10 concussions in the past two years.

The former Blues coach Pat Lam, who coaches Clarke at his Irish club Connacht, told the Irish website The Score that Clarke had suffered two concussions during the northern hemisphere season and eight over the past couple of seasons with the Chiefs.

Lam says the matter is a big concern and Clarke will be unavailable indefinitely.

Clarke signed a three-year deal with Connacht after leaving the Chiefs.
