Liam Messam and Aaron Cruden have been named co-captains for the two-time defending Super Rugby champion Chiefs.
Messam shared the duties with Craig Clarke last season... Clarke is now playing in Ireland.
Coach Dave Rennie sasays Messam has an enormous work ethic and has led them to back-to-back championships.... he's an uncompromising player and a leader who epitomizes Chiefs Mana.
Rennis says Cruden's rugby knowledge, attitude and ability to direct a game is impressive... he's greatly respected, a natural leader and will thrive with this added responsibility.
The Chiefs will play their first pre-season match against the Queensland Reds in Toowoomba on Saturday.
