The New Zealand men's cricketers have set India a target of 304 if the tourists are to finally win a one day match in the final fixture in Wellington.

Ross Taylor hit a century and Kane Williamson his fifth straight half century as the Black Caps made 303 for five.

Williamson finally fell for 88, as he and Taylor put on a 152-run partnership for the third wicket to resurrect the innings from where they were teetering on 41 for two in the 13th over, with Jesse Ryder out for 17 and Martin Guptill for 16.

The hosts were sent in to bat after losing a fifth straight toss.

New Zealand hold an unassailable 3-0 lead in the ODIs.

Canterbury pace bowler Matt Henry will make his debut later on at Westpac Stadium after the 22-year-old was called into the squad earlier this week, with both bowler Tim Southee and all-rounder Corey Anderson carrying minor injuries.

The coach Mike Hesson says they're being rested for the Test series. New Zealand hold an unassailable 3-0 lead in the ODIs.

Henry's Canterbury team-mate Hamish Bennett is also sitting out the match.
