The New Zealand Breakers have improved to fifth on the Australian National Basketball ladder after a 106-101 win over the Wollongong Hawks in their first home game of the year at the North Shore Events Centre on Thursday night.
Led by 21 points from import point guard Kerron Johnson, and 20 each for Gary Wilkinson and Tom Abercrombie, the Breakers held off a late charge from the Hawks for their seventh win of the season.
Their next game is against the Sydney Kings at Vector Arena next Thursday.
