The New Zealand pace bowler Adam Milne will be on the sidelines for six after scans confirmed a torn abdominal muscle.
Milne suffered the injury during New Zealand's win over India in the first one-dayer in Napier on Sunday.
Black Caps physiotherapist Paul Close says Milne will need a rehabilitation period of around six weeks and that he'll see a specialist in Auckland today for further assessment.
The T20 World Cup starts in Bangladesh in just over 7 weeks.
Canterbury's Hamish Bennett has joined the Black Caps squad for the remainder of the one-day series against India... he played his last international ODI almost 3 years ago.
Bennett will join the Black Caps at training in Hamilton this afternoon.
The second match against India is in Hamilton tomorrow.
