ICC changes no threat to NZ says Snedden

New Zealand Cricket says the game in this country won't be disadvantaged by changes proposed for the International Cricket Council, the world's governing body.

ESPN is reporting that the ICC is considering a restructure that would cede executive decision making to cricket's wealthiest nations India, Australia and England.

In a statement, New Zealand's representative at the ICC Martin Snedden says New Zealand will not be disadvantaged or downgraded by the proposed changes.

Snedden says discussions are ongoing and that he's bound by a strict confidentiality provision until talks have concluded.

The head of the New Zealand Cricket Players' Association Heath Mills says the proposal seems to have come out of the blue and appears to be a power grab that's completely unacceptable.

Mills says the proposal should raise red flags for everyone in the sport.
