The former Scottish and Celtic football star Bobby Collins has died aged 82.

Glasgow-born Collins played 320 matches and scored 116 goals for Celtic before English club Everton paid a then club-record STG23,500 fee for his services in 1958.

Collins moved to Leeds in 1962 and helped the Yorkshire side win promotion to the top flight two years later.

He also won 31 caps for Scotland, scoring 10 goals.

Collins, who was just 5' 3" tall, was named the English Football Writers' player of the year in 1965 as Leeds finished runners-up in both the league and FA Cup.
