Bowe positive about Supercars

The two-time Bathurst 1000 motor racing champion John Bowe believes the demise of the car manufacturing industry in Australia can only have a positive effect on the V8 Supercars.

The 1995 Australian Touring Car Champion says both Holden and Ford are currently losing money "hand over fist".

Bowe says this situation will change in the future and there's no reason for them to leave motorsport.

He adds once profitable Ford and Holden will have more money for promotion of the V8s while rival car companies may see an additional opportunity to try and break into the competition.
