Phoenix shoot for three in a row

2:21 pm on 1 January 2014

The Wellington Phoenix will try to win their third match in a row tonight, but they'll be without star player Carlos Hernandez.

The influential Costa Rican midfielder is out for six weeks with a fractured wrist.

The Phoenix are away to the second placed Western Sydney Wanderers, and striker Jeremy Brockie says the team will miss the creative influence of Hernandez.

Brockie says the rest of the team will need to shoulder the responsibility of covering for Hernandez, whose link play was instrumental in their last two wins.

The Phoenix and the Wanderers have met twice this season, both matches were drawn.
