Rain washes away Milne's opportunity

9:02 am on 30 December 2013

New Zealand cricket coach Mike Hesson says Black caps pace bowler Adam Milne would have played if rain hadn't forced the abandonment of yesterday's second one international against the West Indies at McLean park.

Hesson says Milne, who has played five international one dayers, would have have been potent on McLean's pacy wicket.

Meanwhile Hesson says the injured Tim Southee will join the team in Queenstown for third game on New Year's Day, but is not likely to play until the following fourth match of the series in Nelson.
