2nd ODI abandoned

6:15 pm on 29 December 2013

Heavy rain in Napier has forced the second one day cricket international between New Zealand and the West Indies to be abandoned.

The day-night game at McLean Park was scheduled to start at two o'clock, but at 5pm the umpires decided conditions were too wet for any play.

The tourists lead the five-match series one-nil after beating the Black Caps by two wickets in Auckland on Boxing day.

The next game is in Queenstown on New Year's day.

Meanwhile, rain in the Capital has also forced the Twenty20 match between Wellington and Otago to be abandoned.
