New Zealand basketball player Steven Adams and his Oklahoma City Thunder have beaten the Charlotte Bobcats 89-85 on the road, to improve to 24 wins and five losses so far this season.

That matches Portland for the best record in the NBA.

Adams scored six points and three rebounds in 16 minutes on court, while NBA scoring leader Kevin Durant produced a game-high of 34 points and 12 rebounds in the Thunder's first game without the injured Russell Westbrook.

Oklahoma City will host Portland on Wednesday.
