Manchester City have maintained their 100 percent home record in English football's Premier League with a 2-1 comeback win over Christmas leaders Liverpool.

City climb to second while Arsenal stay top of the table by one point, after the Gunners also came back to win 3-1 at London rivals West Ham - a first win in four league games for Arsenal.

Across town, Chelsea beat Swansea 1-0 and are third, a point above Liverpool.

Champions Manchester United are seventh after recovering from conceding two early goals to beat Hull City 3-2 in the early kickoff.

West Ham drop into the bottom three after wins for Crystal Palace at Aston Villa and Fulham at Norwich City meant the three sides that began the day in the bottom three all won. Fulham beat Norwich 2-1 and Crystal Palace won 1-0 at Aston Villa.

Everton lost at home for the first time this season in the Premier League, going down 1-0 to bottom club Sunderland after keeper Tim Howard was sent off.

Everton are fifth, one point higher than Newcastle United - who thumped nine-man Stoke City 5-1.

Tottenham Hotspur are eighth after being held to a 1-1 home draw by West Bromwich Albion.

Southampton won 3-0 at Cardiff City to heap more pressure on Cardiff boss Malky Mackay.
