The Wellington Phoenix blew a number of scoring chances as they remain winless in the A-League following a 1-0 loss to Central Coast in North Sydney.
The Mariners goalkeeper Liam Reddy also heaped more misery on the Phoenix with an outstanding night in front of the net.
Stein Huysegem missed a second half penalty, while Huysegems, Jason Hicks and Jeremy Brockie were either denied by Reddy or fluffed their shots.
The All Whites defender Storm Roux scored the only goal in the 27th minute to lift the Mariners to 4th on the table, while the Phoenix are second from bottom.
Phoenix coach Ernie Merrick says he feels that if they'd scored the penalty, they would have gone on to win the game.
Merrick says despite chance after chance after chance, they're just not scoring regularly in games and that's the frustrating part.
