One of Croatia's most capped footballers, Josip Simunic, will miss next year's World Cup finals in Brazil for leading pro-Nazi chants at the end of last month's playoff victory over Iceland.
35 year old Simunic, Croatia's third most capped player with 105 appearances, led home fans in the chant which has associations with a fascist movement which was banned in 1945.
Australian-born Simunic was banned for 10 games and fined 40-thousand dollars, but he denies any political intent.
