The Blackburn striker DJ Campbell has been given time off by his English Championship football club after he was bailed following his arrest as part of an investigation into spot-fixing.

Rovers have confirmed that the 32-year-old was one of six people detained by the National Crime Agency, who acted on information passed to it by the Sun on Sunday newspaper.

Campbell, whose former clubs include Blackpool, Birmingham, Leicester and QPR, was bailed until April and it remains uncertain if he will feature in Rovers' games in the foreseeable future.
