Mexico's Oribe Peralta and Alex Morgan of the United States were named winners of the inaugural CONCACAF Male and Female Player of the Year awards.
In a vote of national team coaches/captains, media and fans, Santos Laguna's Peralta won the honour ahead of US internationals Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey.
On the women's side, Morgan edged US team-mate Abby Wambach in the most closely contested vote on a ballot that decided six different awards.
In the other categories, Tim Howard of Everton & the USA was named goalkeeper of the year, and the USA's Juergen Klinsmann coach of the year.
