Big day ahead for West Indies

5:52 am on 6 December 2013

Much will be expected from Darren Bravo and Marlon Samuels as the West Indies attempt to save the opening cricket Test against New Zealand in Dunedin.

The pair batted strongly late on day three, but the tourists are still 228 runs away from making the hosts bat again.

Bravo will start day four on 72 and Samuels is on 17.

Trent Boult, who has taken 4 wickets in the match so far, says they always knew the Windies would put up a fight in the second innings and they can't be frustrated that they didn't get more wickets.

Boult says they understand the Windies will put together some partnerships but its all about them executing their plans and keeping that pressure on.

Another fine day is forecast for Dunedin.
