Samoa beat PNG at World Cup

12:11 pm on 5 November 2013

Samoa have beaten Papua New Guinea 38-4 in Hull to stay alive at the Rugby League World Cup.

The Samoans led 28-0 at half-time and scored seven tries to one.

New Zealand top the group with two wins, Samoa and France have one win each and PNG none.

Three teams from the group qualify for the next stage, meaning PNG would need to beat the Kiwis in their last match to have any chance of avoiding elimination.

Samoa play France next Tuesday.
