The English golfer Simon Dyson could be expelled from the European Tour for a rules violation at last week's BMW Masters in Shanghai.
Dyson was disqualified from the tournament after TV viewers contacted officials to tell them that the winner of six European Tour titles had illegally tapped down a spike mark on the line of his putt.
When he was shown a tv replay of the incident, Dyson immediately accepted his accidental mistake and subsequent disqualification.
The tour has announced that a disciplinary hearing will take place to decide if any further action should be taken.
