The defending champions Alinghi have announced that the United Arab Emirates will host the 33rd Americas Cup next February.
Alinghi's New Zealand skipper Brad Butterworth says the venue offers perfect weather and great sailing conditions, and Emirates authorities have shown tremendous interest in hosting the regatta.
Butterworth says safety was an absolute priority in their decision.
The event will take place after two years of legal disputes, and both Alinghi and the challengers Oracle have been ordered to appear in a New York court early next week for a hearing on race guidelines.
