Australian football's A-League has kicked off with Italian superstar Alessandro Del Piero leading Sydney FC to a 2-nil home win over the Newcastle Jets in the opening game of the season.
Del Piero, who notched 14 goals in his maiden A-League campaign last season, scored one and made one for Joel Chianese at Allianz Stadium.
The Wellington Phoenix open their campaign tomorrow at home to the Brisbane Roar.
