Warriors take first steps towards move to Eden Park

The Warriors rugby league club has made its first significant move towards adopting Auckland's Eden Park as its new home, announcing three matches to be held at the ground next season.

The club is set to leave Mt Smart Stadium, possibly before its current contract expires at the Penrose ground in 2018, and will use the Eden Park games next year to trial the stadium's viability as its replacement.

The Chief Executeive, Wayne Scurrah, says the National Rugby League is pushing the move to the home of Auckland Rugby.
