An unbroken 84-run parternship between Tom Latham and Luke Ronchi has helped the New Zealand 'A' cricketers recover to 224 for four at stumps on day two of their match against Sri Lanka 'A' in Dambullah.
Latham's on 77 and Ronchi 60 after the pair came together with New Zealand struggling at 140 for four, in reply to the hosts first innings total of 555 for six declared.
New Zealand A used nine bowlers while in the field with Bracewell, Henry, Sodhi, Devcich, Cachopa and Mitchell all picking up a wicket each.
The New Zealanders' goal for day three will be avoiding the follow-on target of 355 and making the most of the flat batting surface surface.
