The New Zealand Davis Cup tennis team has been drawn to play China in round one of the Asia/Oceania Group One competition at the end of January next year.
That follows the national men's team winning promotion from Group Two by defeating the Philippines over the weekend.
The tie will be played in China at a yet to be confirmed venue from January 31st to February 2nd.
New Zealand leads China 5-1 in head-to-head Davis Cup competition. China's top ranked players are Ze Zheng at 189 and Di Wu ranked 289th.
The winner of the tie will meet Uzbekistan, the group's top-seeded nation, in the next round.
The Asia/Oceania Group One also includes second seeds North Korea, India and Chinese Taipei.
