New Zealand Golf is fully confident that Lydia Ko will make the transition to professional golf.
After finishing second at the Evian Masters in France on Monday, Ko announced that turning to the professional ranks isn't too far away.
The 16-year-old amateur played 14 professional events this year and has missed out on more than $1 million in prize money in her career.
New Zealand Golf's high performance manager Greg Thorpe says Ko has shown that she is capable at that level and doesn't think there would be much more pressure.
Thorpe says Ko just plays the game and she'll take the same approach and because she enjoys competiting, she'll probably see it as just the same.
Thorpe says one issue for Ko will be her welfare, is this the right thing to do at this time in her life and how will she cope full time out on the LPGA Tour.
