New Zealand Rugby Union chairman Jock Hobbs says there were good reasons for extending the contracts of the All Blacks coaching staff, having announced on Thursday that the services of Graham Henry and his assistants Wayne Smith and Steve Hansen have been secured through until the 2011 World Cup.
Hobbs says the union regards the incumbents as a strong team, and they took early action to
defuse potential approaches from overseas.
The All Blacks captain Richie McCaw has welcomed the reappointments.
