Auckland have maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a scrappy 32-17 bonus point win over Bay of Plenty in their ITM Cup rugby clash at Eden Park.
A try to the centre Malakai Fekitoa followed by an outstanding team effort finished by Lolagi Visinia just after half-time had Auckland in control at 17-3.
However the Steamers hit back with a try to Kimami Sitauti and two penalty goals for Willie Ripia, getting them within three points.
The comeback proved to be shortlived as George Moala and the captain, Hadleigh Parkes, both scored tries for the hosts to secure the win.
