The top French tennis player Jo-Wilfried Tsonga won't be playing in this month's US Open after failing to recover in time from a knee injury.
The year's final grand slam of the year starts on the 26th of this month, and Tsonga, the world number eight, hopes to return to competition at a tournament in Metz in mid-September.
