Brad Fittler's reign as coach of the National Rugby Leage side, the Sydney Roosters, is in jeopardy after police found him drunk and half naked trying to gain access to the wrong hotel room.
The late night drama in a hotel in Townsville, Queensland could well be the final straw for the Fittler, who was already under pressure to keep his job following the Roosters' abysmal start to the season.
Roosters chief executive Steve Noyce has travelled for crisis talks with Fittler in Townsville, where the Roosters are to play North Queensland in an NRL clash tonight.
The police say a woman guest phoned them after finding Fittler banging on the door to her Holiday Inn room about 3 o'clock on Friday morning.
It is believed Fittler, who was wearing only shorts, had mistaken the room for his own due to his intoxication.
The Roosters confirm Fittler had been moved on by police, but say precise details of the incident will be determined following Noyce's meeting with Fittler, Townsville police and hotel management.
Earlier this year, Fittler was part of the committee which banned the Roosters star Willie Mason and Nate Myles for one match after they both admitted to having a few drinks on day non-prescribed by the NRL club.
The club has since relaxed its rules regarding the intake of alcohol, which limited its consumption to just the day after games.
