Roddick downs Hewitt at Queens

6:05 am on 12 June 2009

Andy Roddick won the shootout between former champions when he squeezed past Lleyton Hewitt 7-6 7-6 to reach the quarter-finals at the Queen's Club grasscourt tournament in London.

There wasn't a single break point in the match between the pair who've each won four Queens Club titles, but Roddick's thunderbolt serve made the difference as he sent down 18 aces.

Britain's Andy Murray lived up to his top billing at the traditional Wimbledon leadup tournament with a devastating display of speed and power to beat Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-4 6-4.
