Black Caps beaten by Australia

The New Zealand cricketers have been beaten by seven wickets by Australia in their final warmup match ahead of the Twenty20 World Cup.

Batting first at the Oval in London, New Zealand managed just 147, having recovered from 21 for 5 at one stage with Peter McGlashan scoring 49 and Scott Styris 42... Mitchell Johnson took 4 wickets.

The Black Caps picked up both Australian openers, but Michael Clarke and Ricky Ponting then put on 104 for the third wicket to steer them towards victory.... they reached their target with 4 balls to spare.

Ponting made 56 and Clarke 49.... James Franklin took 2 wickets.

New Zealand's first World Cup match is against Scotland on Saturday night.
