Rangers throw away chance to go top

Rangers lost the chance to go top of the Scottish Premier League football competition as they threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Hearts at Ibrox.

With Celtic not playing Dundee United until Monday, a win would have seen the Gers return to the top of the table and first-half goals from Kyle Lafferty and Barry Ferguson seemed to have Rangers cruising to victory.

However Hearts, who had struggled to get out their own half in the first 45 minutes, stunned the home crowd with two quickfire second-half goals.

Falkirk beat Inverness Caledonian Thistle 4-0 to move them within a point of their rivals at the foot of the table while Kilmarnock and Motherwell played out a goalless draw at Rugby Park.

Hibernian held Aberdeen to a 0-0 draw at Pittodrie and Hamilton versus St Mirren ended goalless.
