The list of venues for the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand will be announced this afternoon and it appears the matches will be well spread around the country.
11 regions in New Zealand, comprising 16 venues, made submissions to host the 40 pool matches.
It is understood that the IRB didn't want anymore than 10 venues used, however it seems that they may have relented somewhat and 12 could be announced today.
Todays announcement will also confirm which teams will face off in the opening match as well as the quarter-final match ups to be played in Wellington and Christchurch.
Auckland will host the semi-finals and final.
