The Melbourne Tigers are one step closer to back-to-back Australian National Basketball League titles after coasting to victory in last night's opening game of their best-of-three semi final series against the New Zealand Breakers in Melbourne.
The Tigers were unchallenged on their way to a 117-99 victory, dominating both ends of the floor and leading at one stage by 25 points.
The Tigers were in charge from the outset, jumping to an early 15-5 lead that forced New Zealand coach Andrej Lemanis to call an early time out.
The second game of the series is set down for Friday night in Auckland.
