The German cyclist Stefan Schumacher has been handed a two-year ban from all French races by the country's anti-doping agency.
Schumacher, who failed a doping test at last year's Tour de France, says he's shocked by the decision.
The rider told German media the decision was taken after verbal consultations without hearing any evidence from himself.
Schumacher's samples from the Tour de France tested positive for CERA, a new generation of the banned blood-booster erythropoietin that was until recently untraceable.
