The hulking Welsh winger George North has been declared fit for the British and Irish Lions' first test against Australia on Saturday in Brisbane, providing a welcome boost for the tourists after their shock loss to the ACT Brumbies on Tuesday night.
North passed a fitness test Wednesday on a hamstring strain, making him available for the opening test at Suncorp stadium.
The Lions' assistant coach Rob Howley says he's never seen North in better shape, and his presence will be a huge morale booster for the tourists.
But another Welshman, centre Jamie Roberts, is unlikely to be fit having suffered a hamstring strain against the Waratahs last weekend.
