Saints into 2nd with win over Hawks

The Wellington Saints have won three straight, easily defeating the struggling Hawkes Bay Hawks 102-67 at Pettigrew Green Arena.

The visitors got off to a quick start leading by 16 after the first period and 24 at the end of the half as the Bay struggled from the three point line where they missed all 16 attempts.

The Saints ended the third stanza up 32, allowing Head Coach Pero Cameron to rest some of his players in the final quarter, as they play on Monday against the Waikato Pistons.

Wellington return to second place on the table with eight wins and two losses, but the Nelson Giants can surpass them when they play the Super City Rangers on Sunday.
