Bowlers should be questioning own batsmen

The New Zealand bowlers should be putting pressure on their batting counterparts to explain their repeated failures, says New Zealand Cricket's director of cricket John Buchanan.

The Black Caps are on course for a 2-0 series loss in England after yet another batting collapse in the second test at Leeds.

After being 62 for one the Black Caps lost eight wickets for 60 runs to be dismissed for 174 in their first innings.

The Black Caps pace attack of Tim Southee, Trent Boult, and Neil Wagner tested the England batsmen throughout the test series here over the summer and have done the same at Lord's and the first innings at Headingly.

Buchanan says if the environment in the side is open and honest, discussions about performance should be happening.
