Whine over refs means no wine for former All Blacks coach

There's no wine for former All Blacks coach Sir Graham Henry this week after his whine over Super Rugby referees.

The Blues coach Sir John Kirwan has expressed his displeasure at Henry's criticism earlier this week when he suggested referees were being too pedantic and missing obvious infringements in the wake of the Blues loss to the Crusaders.

He also called one of the officials blind.

The comments have prompted a review by SANZAR, with Henry facing potential disciplinary action.

Kirwan admits the reaction to the comments have created a distraction ahead of the Blues crucial match against the Brumbies but suggested rather tongue in cheek that Henry had already been disciplined by the franchise and not allowed to drink any pinot noir for the rest of the week.

On a more serious note Kirwan said he had sought clarification on some of the referees' rulings from the Sanzar game manager, Lyndon Bray.
