Wild weather in the eastern United States has helped the New Zealand golfer Tim Wilkinson to the biggest payday of his season on the Web.com tour.

Wilkinson was alone in second place going into the final round of the Stadion Classic in Georgia which was rained out, and the New Zealand left hander's prize money of 70-thousand dollars has taken him into 11th place on the season money list.

Meanwhile, in neighbouring North Carolina, they managed to complete the final round of the PGA tour's Wells Fargo championship with an early start, and that title was won by the 22 year old American rookie Derek Ernst in a playoff.
