The Hurricanes coach Mark Hammett will be welcoming a change of scene next week to distract attention from the domestic incident which has landed his star winger Julian Savea in court and in the media spotlight.
The 22-year-old All Black appeared in court Monday charged with assault and Savea was remanded on bail until next month, but he's free to travel with the Hurricanes to South Africa next week.
Hammett, who found out about the assault charge last Thursday, says he was happy with the decision which allowed Savea to play against the Western Force last Friday.
He says there was a lot of consultation around the decision and says they would never play someone if it would affect the individual or the team.
Hammett says it's business as usual and Savea could be picked when the team is named tomorrow for the game against the Stormers in Palmerston North on Friday.
He says Savea and the Hurricanes have to work through a few things before a decision is made later this week on whether he will join the two-match trip to the Republic.
