New Zealand Tennis says it's received an apology from the International Tennis Federation over the abandoned Davis Cup tie against Pakistan in Myanmar but an assurance such problems won't arise again.
The Asia-Oceania group two tie was held in Myanmar after the ITF ruled it was unsafe to go ahead in Pakistan.
Pakistan was leading one-nil when the match referee stopped the tie and awarded it to New Zealand saying the grass surface was unplayable.
Pakistan has protested the decision but the chief executive of New Zealand Tennis Steve Johns says the ITF needs to make sure facilities are up to the required standard.
New Zealand will play the Phiilipines in September for a place in Asia-Oceania group one.
