The All Whites' victory over Bahrain in the 2009 World Cup qualifers could be among games being investigated by European police in a global match-fixing sting.
It emerged on Tuesday that about 680 suspicious but as yet unspecified matches, including World Cup qualifiers, are being probed.
New Zealand Football is in the dark as to whether the Bahrain fixture is among those under suspicion.
Bahrain have since been investigated over a dubious result in a 2012 Asian zone World Cup qualifier against Indonesia, when Bahrain won the match 10-0 after needing to overcome a nine-goal deficit to have any chance of progressing to the next stage.
